A Few New {OLD} Things At The Farm

We recently added two new {old} things to the landing of the stairs.  One is another {lighted}globe for Jamie's collection.  The other is a great chippy, crackled painted antique chair from Jamie's grandmother. They look so great together in this space & here's why.
{WHY THESE WORK}
•We can't express enough how old things create a sense of history & interest in home decor.
We believe all spaces should have something that isn't NEW. Old items add depth to decor~
They give your spaces a sense of collection, as if you have been creating your space over time and didn't just go to a furniture store to by a "matchy" group.
These items are visible to guests as they enter the foyer and the space has a beautiful curated feel.
***
•The colors of the globe are breathtaking.
Soft pastel shades of aqua, and pink, and gold.
The colors of the chair are a similar tone to that of the walls and the wood "peeking" through brings up the rich tones of our wooden floor.
This creates a sense of {UNITY} in decor and our foyer!
***
•The colors of both compliment the art that hangs in the foyer.
If you look at the background of the photo below you will see an inset of Jamie's favorite painting,
The Birth of Venus, by Sandro Botticelli.
You will also see how well everything just 'fits" in this space. That's UNITY!
And if you look close at the globe you can see Italy,
where the beautiful Venus hangs in the Uffizi Gallery.
{Find} something old {new to you}.
{Alter} your space.
{RePurpose} items.
{Make} your space have depth!
